#FINDINGMOON1: LOWER ROCK CREEK TRAIL
the geminijunemoon team set out with some of your favorite #MOONmodels and photographers to Lower Rock Creek Trail outside of Fredericktown, MO this past Saturday in hopes to find the (geminijune)moon.
the moon is one of those places you search for but never find...it's not tangible and Apple maps cannot take you there. it's a mindset. it's that creative little nook and cranny tucked behind some major globs of anatomy in that skull of yours. it projects as confidence and clarity. no fucks given here, kids.
our hiking shoot had #MOONmodels changing on the trails into bodysuits and Chase & Hunter shirts and some down to their very own MOONsuits themselves. (FYI...our birthday suits are called MOONsuits...duh) It's a good thing we were on an unmarked trail that people barely traverse. after our hike shoot, the MOONmodels changed and headed over to The Pig BBQ for a few delicious bites and a few shots and even had some of our awesome severs pop in our shots!

#MOONX: REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS ARE GLOBAL (PHOTOS BY NATASHA MIA TURNER)
REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS ARE GLOBAL
Photography by Natasha Mia Turner
As the women of America protest for Planned Parenthood funding and reproductive health coverage and allowance in a new healthcare plan, women all around the globe are battling the patriarchal stronghold on reproductive rights. For 2017 International Women's Day, art and design student, Natasha Mia Turner, set out in Manchester, UK to capture one of these protests on 35mm film that will hopefully help draw momentum towards the 'Repeal the 8th' movement. This movement is in response to the 8th Amendment added to Ireland's constitution in 1983 (the year I was born) that criminalized women who had abortions (unless mother's life was at harm)...and house them behind bars for up to 14 years (women faced life imprisonment up to 2013).
In these photos, we find the many faces of protest. Mothers, fathers, daughters and sons of all ages gathered to let their voices be heard and it is important to remember that this is a global fight of women everywhere and not just in our city or our state or even our country. As a leading nation, we must stand up and be heard and demand our reproductive rights, so that other countries can follow precedent. We must fight GLOBALLY!
Thank you, Natasha, for capturing this important event and allowing your art to bring the discussion of reproductive rights to everyone.

MOONmilk.AMBASSADOR: STACEY RIOS
the geminijunemoon team would like to welcome Stacey Rios as our newest and first ambassador for our scientifically luxurious bath product, MOONmilk! some of you already know her, but for those of you who don't, she is one of the hardest working go-getters in the Lou. she also graces the homepage of our website with me in an image taken by our resident photographer, Steve Yancey! while she is relaxing in MOONmilk, she enjoys catching up on her social media, unwinding with a glass of wine and painting her nails her favorite shade of moon...BLACK! she can play any instrument and front a band like no other with vocal chops for days. on top of that, she's easy on the eyes and loves working with fresh photographers to capture fun moments. she's even stepped in front of my camera recently looking gorgeous with no makeup for some very Cher-like images. she's also one of my very best friends with a heart of gold. i would go to the geminijunemoon and back for this girl. go check her out on her social media (below) and get ready to see more of her on GEMINIJUNEMOON!
To the moon,
June Ann D'Angelo
if you are local or traveling to St. Louis and would like to become a MOONmilk.AMBASSADOR, please email us at moonmilk@geminijunemoon.com with 'AMBASSADOR' in the subject line. ambassadors receive a free bag of MOONmilk to try out and for social media posting along with a little photo shoot highlighting 3 of your favorite things to do in the bathtub (no water or nudity required). to the moon.

#MOONX: ghouls gone wild by rachel schwebach
GHOULS GONE WILD
From the editor: The fourth of July is when America celebrates 'freedom' but for those of us on geminijunemoon, we know what's really up. In a time where most Americans feel their lives and decisions (and votes) stand in quicksand as the world watches, Halloween could not come at a better time. A time for us all to cut a little slice of the freedom pie again by embracing the true beast or slut or demon within. (For some, costumes are not even necessary!) We shall run the streets for a night, living the satire of the American dream. A huge thank you to Rachel Schwebach for letting the ghouls go wild and capturing the very essence of the American halloween!

#MOONX: final lament f/ june ann d'angelo (NSFW photos by allure)
FINAL LAMENT
The curtains were half drawn; the floor was swept
And strewn with rushes; rosemary and may
Lay thick upon the bed on which I lay,
Where, through the lattice, ivy-shadows crept.
He leaned above me, thinking that I slept
And could not hear him; but I heard him say,
"Poor child, poor child"; and as he turned away
Came a deep silence, and I knew he wept.
He did not touch the shroud, or raise the fold
That hid my face, or take my hand in his,
Or ruffle the smooth pillows for my head.
He did not love me living; but once dead
He pitied me; and very sweet it is
To know he still is warm though I am cold.

#MOONstl: The Mourning Society of St. Louis visit Bellefontaine Cemetery
i took to the many winding paths of Bellefontaine Cemetery at the end of N. Kingshighway this past weekend to learn all about the history of Victorian death in America. The Mourning Society of St. Louis was decked out in garb of the era to teach visitors at their event (Consolation of Memories: Mourning and Death in the Nineteenth Century) all about the major causes of death at the time and funeral customs, fears and superstitions. i highly recommend checking out their website at the link below and check out their upcoming events. we were even let in on a little secret about an upcoming event: Bellefontaine Cemetery plans to honor one of their most famous Civil War patrons with a full military funeral in 2017...you will not want to miss that!
click HERE to learn more about The Mourning Society of St. Louis
click HERE to learn more about Bellefontaine Cemetery
in the Hotchkiss Chapel we were welcomed by the Mourning Society to attend the funeral of 14 year old Charlotte E Willis who is actually buried at Bellefontaine
this character told us all about taphophobia which is the fear of premature burial that was alive and well in the Victorian era. there were no stethoscopes yet to determine if the deceased had truly become deceased and this really created a frenzy. at this very crypt, a female was buried and her lover came and when her lover came to the crypt to entomb another family member, her bones fell to his feet. she was buried alive and was trying desperately to get out.
no wonder so many babies were dying of disease. this is a bottle flask that would be left with the baby in the crib and only cleaned about once every 3 weeks. so basically these babies were drinking bottles of bacterial goo. this is actually the same shape of culture flasks used in modern day scientific research.
